Ophrys tenthredinifera subsp. spectabilis, Ophrys balearica Zwei mallorquinische Orchideen: Links die Große Wespen-Ragwurz, rechts die Balearische Ragwurz. Die große Wespen-Ragwurz wurde erst vor wenigen Jahren entdeckt und als eigenes Taxon beschrieben. Sie wurde bislang nur in der Serra de Tramuntana gefunden und ist vom Aussterben bedroht. Die Balearische Ragwurz ist dagegen auf Mallorca öfters anzutreffen. Two majorcan orchids: On the left, the Showy Sawfly Orchid, on the right the Balearic Orchid. The Showy Sawfly Orchid was discovered and described as an own taxon just a few years ago. It appears only in the Serra de Tramuntana and is threatened with extinction. In comparison with it, the Balearic Orchid is more common in Majorca.
